Our students, teachers and staff are EXCITED about the FUNd Run – check out our official FUNd Run video and see why!
The FUNd Run is next Friday, November 9th! Continue collecting those pledges – ask your friends, families and neighbors to support Brockman for our only fundraiser of the year to raise money for new playground equipment! Pledges can be collected via cash or check (checks can be written to Brockman PTO with the student’s name in the memo line) or via Paypal. Simply click here and go to Donate.
Next Friday, on the day of the FUNd Run, your child will receive a FUNd Run t-shirt to wear for the run. Students are also asked to bring a water bottle from home.
Parents are also cordially invited to join the fun next Friday! Parents are permitted to bypass the main office and join the fun directly on the upper field. FUNd Run shirts for spectators will be also available for sale for $5 on the upper field with proceeds going back to the school. Remember to bring your own chair if you plan to stay and watch!
The UPDATED schedule is as follows:

Brockman students and teachers learned there are lots of ways to exercise this week during Yoga Day on 10/23. Students practiced yoga with teachers from Yoga Masala and our own Mrs. Wentzky, and learned poses such as the “Mountain Pose,” and “Sleeping Tiger.” Yoga increases energy and improves focus, concentration and mood. It also builds strength, balance and flexibility. Yoga can be enjoyed by people of all ages – it’s a great activity to practice at home as a family!
Next weeks FUNd Run events continue our focus on moving our bodies to stay strong and healthy:
- Parents are invited to a special free Barre Class at MUV Fitness on 11/3 from 8-9am, taught by one of our Brockman Bear parents. Childcare is available for $5.
- Teachers and staff will also participate in a healthy habits challenge with the opportunity to win a FitBit!
- Finally, students will burn off some of that Halloween energy on Hoola Hoop Day, held in the cafeteria on Friday, 11/2.
The FUNd Run at Brockman is a way for our whole community (parents, teachers, staff, and students!) to focus on a healthy lifestyle. Continue collecting those pledges to raise money for our healthy school and new playground equipment, and we hope to see you at the FUNd Run on November 9th! To volunteer, sign up here.
|The Brockman Bash Committee* would like to thank these amazing parents for giving their time and energy to helping us put on this wonderful fall event for all our families to enjoy!
We would also like to thank Dr. Stark, Mrs. Sharonda Giles, and Mr. Linnan for their unwavering support & help through it all.
And finally, an extra special thank you to Melanie Trimble and Erica Ferrell*: this event could not have been a success without help from people like you!

For all of our new and returning Brockman Bears and their parents, please remember to send in your Box Tops For Education, clipped from many of your favorite products. If you’re willing to participate, there’s also a bonus app for your cell phone or tablet, available at www.btfe.com/bonusapp. Every (unexpired) Box Top you send in gives Brockman one dime, sent twice a year to the school as a check. You can find Box Tops on popular kids’ foods like Annie’s, Larabar, and Cheerios, plus home-care supplies like Lysol, Kleenex, Hefty, and Ziploc. Simply tear off the Box Tops, put them in an envelope or baggie, and have your child put them in the bright pink Box Tops collection box near the front door of the school. They don’t have to be trimmed or packaged in any way; they just need to get to us. We’d love to have over $1000 this school year, and we’ll need every Bear’s help to get there! If you have any questions or need the full list of products emailed to you, please feel free to contact Erin Baldwin at email@example.com. Thank you all for your Box Tops contributions to Brockman!
As your child outgrows his or her shirts and sweatshirts, please consider turning them in to the box outside the media center. A few times a year we’ll give parents the opportunity to ‘shop for free’ for 1 pre-owned item per student.
Collection will start Monday, October 22nd.
A ‘shopping’ table will be available on Friday November 9th at the FUNdRun. More details coming soon!
