Get your yearbooks while you can! Due to the Coronavirus quarantine, all yearbook orders must be placed online, and in order to get the yearbooks in time to distribute them to students, all orders must be placed by this Thursday, May 14, 2020.
The Book Fair is coming to Brockman March 2-6! Purchasing from our book fair not only benefits our school, it also provides your child the chance to put down the devices, turn off the TV and engage with characters in a whole new way. Let’s all challenge our kids to enjoy the journey a good book can take them on! The Book Fair hours are:
- Monday, March 2: 7:15 am – 3:00 pm
- Tuesday, March 3: 7:15 am – 4:00 pm
- Wednesday, March 4: 7:15 am – 3:00 pm
- Thursday, March 5: 7:15 am – 7:00 pm
- Friday, March 6: 7:15 am – 1:30 pm
We will also be hosting “Make Your Mark: A Family Literacy Event” on Thursday, March 5. There will be lots of great activities with artists and storytellers and dinner, too! Check your child’s communication folder for more information and to RSVP for this event.

You’re doing an amazing job of sending in your Box Tops to the bright pink box at school! We’ve submitted $55 and $55.40 with our two submissions so far this school year. You’re also doing wonderfully at starting to download the BoxTops4Education app and uploading your receipts; that’s added ten-plus dollars to our total already, and you’ve only been using it two months. If you don’t want to take the time to process your receipts through the app, you’re welcome to drop those in the bright pink box as well, and I’ll upload them for you. Since grocery store receipts don’t usually contain any identifying information, you can send as many as you want, and Brockman will get the dimes that add up to dollars! Sam’s, Dollar Tree, Publix, Walmart, Kroger, and lots of other stores are all participating in the process.
In addition, please don’t forget to give us your invoices from any screenprinting involving Hanes t-shirts or pants. We earn dollars from Hanes for those articles of clothing, even if they don’t involve Brockman. So, save your receipts showing the number of pieces printed, and just drop them in the pink box. Another successful FUNd Run is in the books! A huge THANK YOU to the Brockman community for all of your help and support of the 2019 FUNd Run! It was a great day to raise money for our school and show off our new playground equipment and the upper elementary track. Throughout all of the FUNd Run events, we had over 50 parent volunteers, 15 corporate sponsors, 3 community partners, and thus far have raised nearly $11K! (We are still counting a few packets that have trickled in!)
We estimate that about 60% of students sent in their packets so please don’t hesitate to continue sending in donations, as the PTO forwards funds to projects throughout the year – for example, this year’s proceeds will fund ongoing classroom initiatives like Aleks licenses, gardening projects, community-building events like the End-of-Year picnic, and further playground renovations – we still have the lower elementary and primary playgrounds to go!

We’re trying something new + exciting in our school’s greenhouse this year! In November, students potted Olaf amaryllis bulbs to force their beautiful blooms in time for the winter holidays. These would make excellent hostess, office, or client gifts, maybe even a treat for yourself. They are $15 each and will be budded, potted, wrapped and ready for pickup in the greenhouse after school 12/18 from 3-6 pm. Quantities are limited so reserve yours today by filling out and returning the form found here, and as always, thank you for supporting our school. Payment can be made at pickup. Questions? 1) Animal/Pet Photos: The 2019-2020 Brockman Yearbook theme is Animals/Pets. We are encouraging families to send in a photo with their pet. If you do not have a family pet you can send in a photo taken with an animal at the Zoo, at a family members home or out in nature. Each family should only send in one photo.
